In Tucuman's Newspaper

Distance to Date: 5060 km, 3137 miles

We have finally arrived in Salta, the most northern large city we will pass in Argentina. The weather has been nothing short of perfect: warm days and cool nights. Yet, we know that we face freezing temperatures ahead on the high plains of Bolivia - so, naturally, we are loading up on lots of ice cream while we can!

We are planning to visit a school for the blind while we are here in Salta, and then we begin the final push to Bolivia. We keep meeting incredible, warm and generous people. One of our favorite Argentine customs is Sunday lunch - the whole family (cousins, aunts, nieces, nephews) gather together every Sunday for empanadas and futbol and, perhaps, as asado! We have had the pleasure of appearing as "extended family" a few times - memories that will last a lifetime.

Thanks to our friend, Gaston of Tucuman, we were interviewed by the local newspaper, La Gaceta. Thanks to this article, our website was viewed by more than 200 Argentinians on Thursday! While we were riding up Ruta 9 en route to Salta, a family saw us at a gas station (filling up with water) and recognized us from the newspaper. Photos were taken and hand-out cards were given to them. What a great way to raise awareness!

Thanks for sharing our project -- help raise awareness.
