Oh, Canada, oh, Canada!

Canada is our last country before Alaska! North of Bellingham, we kind of got lost; we crossed into Canada and kind of got lost again; we made it to White Rock after having to back-track on a busy highway; and then we had to throw the bike and trailer over a 5-ft wall because we got off-route on our way to meet a friend who'd ride with us in to Vancouver. Needless to say, a GPS would have been good. Deadhorse, Alaska? Recalculando.
The rat tail on its way into Canada. It's determined to make it to Alaska!
We are hosted by Patrick in White Rock just across the border in Canada.
The lilacs are worth a second photo! Our sleep was "infused" with the fragrant smell of lilacs.
White Rock... here it is. The actual white rock!
We move closer to inspect it.
Is it that heavy? The melting of glaciers back yonder brought it here.
Yeah, it's here to stay. We aren't as strong as glaciers.
Thanks, Patrick, for hosting us! We love meeting folks like Patrick who are excited about what we're doing -- raising awareness about blindness and pushing beyond boundaries.
Yelp, there really is a white rock in this town.
Day two of Canada and we have to stop at a Tim Hortons for donuts and coffee. Oh, Canada, we celebrate your timbits!
We meet with the news crew from AMI to do a segment about our journey. Our effort to raise awareness will be shared with millions of Canadians!
Riding on towards Pitt Meadows, a suburb of Vancouver, to meet with a friend of ours for the final ride into Vancouver.
Christi had to get into the picture, too.
We met Jennifer (and her husband Dave) in La Paz, Bolivia. They invited us to visit their hometown of Vancouver... and so here we are! Jen is guiding us into the city.
The following day, we met with the visually impaired community. We spent some time with the two gals (next to us) hoping to inspire them to take interest in cycling. Who knows... perhaps they will take on a journey of their own.
Dave takes the tandem for a test run.
And, of course, we visit Vancouver's bustling Chinatown for some good food and culture.
The rat tail is in Canada!
